The Run

Monday was fun. I left work and had a bunch of errands to do at the house before I went to my other job. My plan was to go home, do what I had to do, walk/jog/run to the beach and get home and clean up in time to get to work by 5. It was a good plan. I set off to the beach which round trip is almost three miles. It’s the same three miles I would do on the treadmill at the gym so anytime I get to take advantage of the outdoors I try to do so especially since I was laid up most of last Summer. I was going at a pretty good clip when I got to the exact half-way point and the wind kicked up and I got drenched by rain. I turned and ran for my life because the wind became pretty fierce and I was afraid of thunder/lightning/locusts etc. My trip home was a not a calm-collected run it was an oh-my-I-am-going-to-die-if-I-don’t-get-home-as-fast-as-possible run. Needless to say the world did not open up and swallow me but I was really wet when I made it to my house.
